What's on at the
Wollaton Bowling Club in 2025
Open Day All Welcome!
Our Open Day 2025 will be on May 5th, the first Bank Holiday Monday in May. There will be an opportunity for members of the public to join in some fun bowling games. Free refreshments and home made cakes will also be on offer. Fingers crossed for fine weather.
Roll - Ups
Casual play (roll ups) and practice sessions are available to our members throughout the season. Club members can play at the club from 10.30am to dusk. Two hourly sessions are available commencing at 10.30, 12.30, 14.30, 16.30 and 18.30.

Planned roll ups will be posted on our WhatsApp group. All members are encouraged to join in. The more the merrier.

Last years planned roll-ups proved popular with both new and established members alike. In 2025 we hope to continue running 3 sessions a week, on a weekday afternoon, evening and at the weekend.
Club Finals Day
Finals Day this year will be taking place over the weekend of 6th - 7th September. All club members are welcome to enter the events. There are Singles, Pairs and Two Bowl Singles competitions which will run throughout the season and culminate on Finals Day.
This year we will be introducing an Open Trips competition.

Taster Sessions
Free taster sessions available to anyone interested in trying out the game of bowls. The sessions will last about an hour. Equipment will be provided. Wear trainers or flat soled shoes.
Please email Wollatonbowls@gmail.com to book a session.
League Competitions
This year we are competing in three leagues.
-
Midweek 3x4 EBA League
-
3x3 Beeston Open League

Internal Competitions
The William Brady Trophy
An internal league played weekly from June to August. A game of trips, drawn from a team of five.
The William Brady Trophy has now become an established fixture in our bowling calendar. This year it will take place on Thursdays, at 6.30pm. Food and drinks will be on offer after the matches.

Drawn Mixed Pairs League
Last year we introduced a drawn mixed pairs league which proved to be popular, only limited by the number of lady members. This year we are hoping for more entries, after increasing our membership by over 20%.
County Competitions
This year, seven of our members have entered the over-55 Bowls Nottinghamshire knock-out competitions and/or the Elvin and Warren Trophy run by the Nottinghamshire Federation Bowls League
